The original Carrera model production was released in 1964 by the Heuer company. (The Tag Heuer brand exist from 1986, when Heuer was purchased by Tag company - Formula 1 parts manufacturer). The name of this watch was taken from Le Carrera Panamericana Rally in Mexico. Nowadays Carrera comes in three versions: the Carrera Automatic, the Carrera GMT Automatic and the Carrera Chronograph. The Tag Heuer Carrera Chronograph has got a hand-wound caliber and sports 18-karat gold case with screw down crown.
